Meta Connect 2026 ran on 23 and 24 September at Meta's headquarters in Menlo Park, California. The most interesting product was a pair of smart glasses that leaves something out, TechCabal reports.
Smart glasses without a camera
Ray-Ban Meta Audio has open-ear speakers for music, calls and talking to Meta AI, but no camera, so it cannot take photos or record video. It costs from $349, has up to 12 hours of battery per charge and ships on 13 October. It is Meta's clearest response to people uneasy about being filmed by camera glasses, though the glasses still have microphones and voice requests still go to an AI service.
The rest of the line-up
- Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 from $449: slimmer frames, up to nine hours of battery and a button that opens Meta AI.
- Meta VR Glasses at $1,299.99, arriving spring 2027: about 100 grams, with the processor and battery in a separate puck.
- Muse Charm: a pocket device for talking to Muse. No price or date yet.
Muse gets a wallet
Meta launched Muse, its AI agent, on 8 September. It can open websites, fill in forms, plan trips and shop, asking for approval before sensitive steps such as paying. At Connect, Meta added shopping partners including Walmart, Best Buy and Sephora, payments through Shop Pay and PayPal on top of Stripe's Link, and Expedia and Instacart.
