Why it matters

Hiring is becoming a machine talking to a machine. Candidates use AI to apply in bulk and to polish answers. Employers use AI to screen the pile. Somewhere in the middle, a person who might have been a great hire gives up.

When candidates answer with AI and employers screen with AI, trust is the first thing to drop out.

What this means for hiring teams in Lagos and beyond

If you screen with AI, say so up front, explain how the output is used, and keep a human in the loop for the final decision. The best candidates will notice which employers treated them like people.
